`MARKS' or `MIND' - The benchmark for Intelligence
Unfortunately, the system does not permit any other means of evaluation. The ultimate aim of any grad whether from Harvard or IIM is to reach the top in the business world and prove to the world that they deserve being in that enviable position.
So are stuck in this confusing system where history has shown very successful people some of who have been school dropouts, others never seen the doorsteps of a college but are billionaires. The question as aften asked, is marks important or is sharpening of the mind?
In the quest for success and knowledge, churning through books may be important, but also important is the ability to comprehend, remember and apply the reading. Most often the challenge begins with learning and ends with the examination. As always in any race the last hundred yards is so much important, but most often overlooked.
Ofcourse, we are proud parents because our son scores over ninety percentage in his subjects. But the fear that kills is, will that take him to his goals in life where history has proven otherwise.

Josephest - concluding day

It couldn't have been a better occasion, although we expected a lot more parent participation. Although we did cross a `century' of enquiries and game loving students.
The visitors and parents at our stall were quite enthusiastic about the product. We hope to keep in touch with them.
The biggest learning we had was, Inquizitor is an excellent addictive learning tool and biggest achievement was we did succeed in showcasing this exquisite product to the actual target users. There were boys of age 12 and 15 who have played more than 7-8 quizzes. Mind you, the quizzes we had put up for the show were just simple topics like mathematical symbols or human organs in biology.
I can imagine the enthusiasm of these students if they can help themselves with quizzing games from all their curriculum topics!
Little fun loving learners, here we come.

Inquizitor at Josephest ‘08

First day, first show - a stupendous success:
It was good fun to see how youngsters easily catch up with technology. We allowed kids over ranging from age 8 to 18 play Inquizitor on iMac, Windows and a Linux FC3 machine. Most popular machine was without doubt the iMac.
It was amazing to note that these kids actually played with so much enthusiasm, none would’ve believed they were actually answering questions from their own subjects, right from their classrooms, and on a weekend. Some played over 5 games at a stretch. Some got into a challenging mode, tried to challenge each other on getting higher scores. With over 2 decades separating them and us, we still enjoyed what they did.
Now I believe, Inquizitor is really captivating and addictive for all right reasons. That was a real WOW experience!
Inquizitor™ was well accepted by both parents & students. We have received few enquires for purchase of the software. More importantly, it was the enthusiasm of the children playing the `quiz contest' that got us bewildered. They were so glued playing the fun and frolic of quizzing, that many of them were literally being forced by their parents to end their quizzing. We do have some of the day's highest scorers of their curriculum quiz, the names will be announced at the end of the fair at the venue.
The School:
St Joseph’s Boys High School (formerly known as St Joseph’s European High School), is a very popular institution and have a strong alumni with the likes of Rahul Dravid, Mohandas Pai (Infosys), Sabheer Bhatia (of Hotmail fame) and many others. The school is in its 150th year of providing quality education and are hosting a fun fair `n' carnival `Josephest ’08’ at their school grounds to commemorate the occasion.
The product & company:
3MRT is participating on this auspicious occasion to present its flagship product Inquizitor™. This is also the first time 3MRT is presenting it at any event in India and it couldn’t have been better than at this one. Inquizitor™ was developed at 3MRT’s Asia Pacific Technology Centre at Bangalore and is quite popular among 1000+ schools in the UK. We began offering it to schools in the US this year. We now begin a similar effort in India, making student’s life easier, especially in curriculum & subject retention – `making learning memorable’!
Who can use it:
If your child is 8 years and above, he/she could try the software at the carnival. I am sure it will be an experience of a life time for them. Although can be used by children as well as in corporates for long term retention post-internal training.
