Reminder that learning with fun can change our kid's focus from exam-writers to creative thinking. Difference isn't much from `learning', but their`approach' definitely is.
Expectations raise the bar, create stress for self & for others, a sure shot recipe for failure. I realise reasons for learning problems in young minds, when parents pressure them for marks & ranks.
It is so interesting how easy success can be, when you take an action as if you were just enjoying it, without any expectation! I experienced one today.

ICT in Education; challenges start with *Power *Availability to infrastructure *Access to broadband *Easy path to roll-out technology *Trained manpower / teachers to handle technology (meaning tech must be simple to use....
Many advantages are already being experienced by industry. Vision 2012 and Vision 2020 are achievable, but industry must stay focused.
ICT in education is a huge challenge, especially in a country like India. Of course many of us are already aware of these. But with huge impetus given to e-Gov, means reduced time frames, less corruption, faster paperwork... many advantages already experienced by industry. Vision 2012 and Vision 2020 are achievable, but industry must stay focused.
BangaloreIT.biz last day update..... interesting perspectives from the track `IT Enables Education'.
BangaloreIT.biz update..... interesting info regarding UID project by Nandan Nilakeni. I thot it was profile with an ID Card. I realise it is just number & no profiling. A uniq number for name + address + date of birth + bio-metrics (finger print & iris)- nothing more. Central repository will respond Yes/No for identity query & no info is passed on. Huge challenge creatng & processng a billion IDs!

Glad that I will be attending `IT in Education' Track at Bangalore IT.biz 2009

I will miss the CIO Summit at TISS, Mumbai :(
attended a talk on Vision 2020: Leadership series.

Padmashree Warrior presented the Cisco side of the story and some interesting statistics and insights into broadband connectivity in India.

Reach and cost are Two major constraints in India.

One that caught my ears was this world fact from her:
Every second - 4 children are born AND 32 mobiles are sold! That's the speed at which technology is seeping.
